In the era of COVID-19, the world of healthcare-including palliative care-experienced a sudden shift in how care is delivered: Almost overnight, clinicians across sectors and settings migrated their patient encounters online. As a result, a significant portion of healthcare encounters occur today through technology-enabled tools and platforms from landline telephones to FaceTime or Zoom to encrypted messaging and video visits. And this is unlikely to change even as the pandemic recedes. This course is intended to help clinicians, teams, and organizations maximize the benefits of the personal and connected nature of this mode of care delivery. Video demonstrations and commentary from skilled clinicians are paired with expert didactic content to ensure participants enhance their skills, increase confidence, and improve patient outcomes through telemedicine.
Physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, or any clinician likely to conduct patient or family visits via telemedicine.
