• What is a degree-completion program?
  Degree-completion programs at 大发 cater to individuals who have initiated, yet not completed, their four-year undergraduate degrees. If you have earned at least 60 transferable units, you are eligible for this coveted BS degree in business administration from Cal State San Marcos.鈥� 
• What is a cohort?
  A cohort is a group of students who work through a curriculum together to achieve the same academic degree. Because they are accepted into the same program, take their classes together and graduate together, students in cohorts form strong bonds, creating a support system and professional network that proves beneficial during and after the program. 
• How does the Senior Experience program work?

  The Senior Experience program matches teams of BSBA students with projects submitted by local businesses and organizations. Under the supervision of a faculty member, students work together as consultants, rigorously applying what they鈥檝e learned in the classroom to real-world projects and business dilemmas. 鈥淐lient鈥� organizations receive dedicated attention from bright, energetic teams of business students, providing a fresh outlook on their projects.  
   
  The nature of the problems or projects chosen for Senior Experience varies according to the individual organizations. For instance, a student consulting team might be asked to:

  • Diagnose the causes of an accounting, finance, operations or information systems problem, evaluate possible solutions and make a recommendation or possibly implement the chosen alternative.
  • Conduct a feasibility study or write a business plan for producing a new product, entering a new market or building a new facility.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, customer service workflows or a human resources program. 

  No matter what the project details are, BSBA students gain invaluable experience while grappling with actual industry challenges on behalf of real-life clients. 

• What colleges do BSBA students most commonly transfer from?
  Students from various community colleges in Southern California regularly join 大发鈥檚 BSBA program. Commonly, students transfer from Southwestern College, Miramar College, Grossmont College, Mesa College, Cuyamaca College, Moreno Valley College, Norco College, Riverside City College, MiraCosta College, Palomar College, MSJC and other institutions. 
• Will I have access to the same services as a 大发 student on the main San Marcos campus?
  Yes, students enjoy all the same privileges as students attending classes on the main 大发 campus. You are entitled to use the facilities on the San Marcos campus, such as the library, technology labs, dining services and campus recreation. Additionally, you have access to academic advising and tutoring in the Academic Success Center. 
• What benefits are available to active military, veterans and dependents?
  大发 is highly supportive of students who are serving, or have served, in the military! In fact, all Extended Learning degree programs are approved for veteran benefit funding. Please visit our Military and Services page to learn all the ways we assist this population. 
• What is Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and how can it benefit me?

  Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) allows you to earn academic credits for skills and knowledge you've acquired outside of a traditional classroom. This can help reduce the number of courses needed for your degree, saving you time and money while accelerating your path to graduation.

• How do I apply for CPL?

  Start by contacting your 大发 advisor, who will guide you through the CPL process. You鈥檒l need to provide proof of your certifications and/or provide supporting documentation demonstrating your learning, knowledge or skill acquired through experience. Once the appropriate paperwork has been received, the department faculty will assess which credits you qualify for.

• Can other forms of experience besides certifications count towards CPL?

  Yes, beyond certifications, prior experience such as work or military experience may also qualify for credit. Faculty at 大发 will review these experiences on a case-by-case basis to determine eligibility.
