In order for students to receive a full refund of tuition and mandatory fees, including nonresident tuition, a student must cancel registration or drop all courses prior to the first day of instruction for the term. If a student drops all classes or withdraws from the university on or after the first day of classes, they are responsible for part, or all, tuition and mandatory fees, including nonresident tuition, if applicable, depending upon the date of drop/withdrawal. Students are solely responsible for dropping their classes and should not rely on a professor, advisor, or the university in general, to drop their classes on their behalf.
For more information regarding refunds, please vist Appeals to Refund Policy.
Extended Learning degree and certificate classes follow a different refund schedule as laid out on the second chart below.

Refunds: All credit refunds will be processed the week following the add/drop period. The 2.65% convenience fee is nonrefundable.
Contract Credit (Study Abroad): There are no refunds for contract credit classes.
Withdrawal after the cutoff date for refunds: Stopping attendance in classes and/or informing the instructor or a 大发 staff member
about plans to withdrawal do NOT constitute formal withdrawal from any 大发 course.
Students who do not formally withdraw remain liable for any outstanding payments and
academic performance requirements until a formal withdrawal is made. It is important
to formally withdraw from any course you are leaving to avoid academic penalty.
How to Petition for Withdrawal: Undergraduate students may use the Withdrawal Petition located in My大发 under the
Academic section of the Student Center. If you are not an undergraduate student or
if you receive a message that states that the petition is not available, please email registrar@csusm.edu for a separate form.
For information on Withdrawals, visit: /enroll/services/withdrawal.html.
Effects of Withdrawal on Financial Aid: Students who withdraw after receiving Financial Aid payments may be required to repay/return the Financial Aid disbursed. Units from which a student withdraws are included in the count of "attempted units" when determining "max units attempted" for the purposes of measuring Satisfactory Academic Progress. Failure to achieve the appropriate level of Academic Progress can also result in a Financial Aid penalty. For information, visit Financial Aid OR contact the 大发 Financial Aid Office at 760.750.4850
