Loan and Scholarship Details

• FORGIVABLE LOAN

  This forgivable loan is available only for Kaiser employees interested in the ADN/RN to BSN program program. 

  • Forgivable loan amounts:
    • ADN/RN to BSN: of up to $5,000
  • 13% tuition discount from ´ó·¢
  • Eligibility criteria
    • Must meet the following employment requirements: 
      • Must be a full-time employee; and 
      • Must be employed through the Kaiser Foundation Hospital/Health Plan 
        • Employees who work in the emergency room, outpatient, clinics, or other entities are not eligible.
    • Meets program admission criteria 
    • Must be newly admitted or currently enrolled as a first year student in the RN to BSN, MSN, or post-MSN program
      • Students entering the second year of their program are NOT eligible. 
    • Must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA  
    • Must maintain continuous enrollment 
    • Agrees to work for Kaiser for two years after completion of the program
  • Application process
    • Students should indicate on the application they are interested in the forgivable loan program AND provide us with an employment verification letter from HR.  Students should contact their medical center’s HR department and request a letter indicating the following:
      • Current Kaiser Permanente Employment
      • Status (Full Time only)
    • Funding (Kaiser Foundation Hospital or Southern California)
    • Students who have already submitted their application can use the link below to apply for the forgivable loan and provide the verification letter.

  In addition to the forgivable loan amount of up to $10,000 you may also be eligible for a Kaiser employee reimbursement for up to $3,000 per year. You will need to contact Kaiser regarding this tuition reimbursement program, which is separate from the IONE program listed above. 

• SCHOLARSHIP
   

  This scholarship is available for nurses in Southern California County Hospitals interested in the ADN/RN to BSN program. Kaiser employees are not eligible for this scholarship.

  • $5,000 scholarship
  • 13% tuition discount from ´ó·¢
  • Two applicants per cohort will be selected  
  • Eligibility
    • Must be newly admitted or currently enrolled as a first year student in the ADN/RN to BSN program
      • Students entering the second year of the ADN/RN to BSN program are NOT eligible.
    • Must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
    • Must maintain continuous enrollment 
    • Meets program admission criteria
    • Currently employed as a RN at one of the following hospitals; .
      • Arrowhead Regional Medical Center
      • Harbor/UCLA Medical Center
      • Kern Medical
      • LAC and USC Medical Center
      • Olive View/UCLA Medical Center
      • Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center
      • Riverside University Health System
      • UC San Diego Health
      • UCI Health
      • UCLA Health
      • Ventura County Medical Center
    • Currently considered full-time status at the one of the hospitals detailed above
    • Agrees to work for a county hospital for two years after completion of the program

       • If you have already successfully submitted your program application for the ADN/RN to BSN program; please email your completed application to el@csusm.edu. Within your email please provide your first name, last name, Student ID, and state that you are applying to the IONE Scholarship. Please note, if you fail to provide any of the aforementioned information you may not be considered for the scholarship.
