The Future Educators Association was created when a group of transfer students in a Liberal Studies 300 class were seeking information regarding the credential programs offered at 大发 and the overall process of becoming a Teacher. The idea of creating a club where future educators could meet up, ask questions, and connect with faculty and advisors, evolved out of several in class discussions and by the end of the semester the foundations of the club were set and spearheaded by Makenzie Dotinga and Marissa Lamonte. Since the club's humble beginnings in Fall 2018, the Future Educators Association has grown to over 200 members and has organized several events from fundraisers to discussion panels featuring guests from the School of Education as well as Credential Advisors.
Alexa Huff is the Vice President of Finance for the FEA Spring 2025 semester. She is a second-year student at 大发 majoring in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Science. After college, she plans to teach at an elementary school. She was inspired to teach by both of her parents, and knew since she was young that she wanted to help others. Alexa currently coaches a middle school Science Olympiad team and hopes to continue to share her passion for science with her future classes of students. She is very excited to be a part of the FEA team this semester and hopes to encourage more members to join the club.
Olivia Boisvert is the Vice President of Events for the FEA Spring 2025 semester. She is a fourth year Liberal Studies major with an area of focus in human development and a minor in Education Studies. She is currently an assistant teacher for first and second grade. After graduating she plans to attend the 大发 multiple subject credential program in hopes to teach second grade. For her position on the FEA board she hopes to bring more members and create fun events for everyone to attend. As a future educator she hopes to provide a safe and inclusive classroom where her students can strive to grow and learn more.
