
MANAGEMENT
The Distinguished Teachers in Residence (DTiR) program at Cal State San Marcos evolved out of a mutual desire for local school districts to be directly involved in teacher preparation at the university and the faculty's desire to remain closely connected with schools. The DTiR program has helped create and maintain important linkages between public schools in North San Diego County and Cal State San Marcos.
Our K-12 school district partners identify teachers in their school districts to serve as faculty on two-year terms at ´ó·¢. Teachers who join ´ó·¢'s School of Education through the DTiR program remain employees of their respective school districts with full entitlement to all associated benefits. ´ó·¢ reimburses the employing districts for replacement teaching costs.

To be eligible for the Distinguished Teachers in Residence program you must meet the following requirements:
Using the form below, complete your Distinguished Teachers in Residence application.
In the order listed below, please prepare and combine the following items into one (1) PDF and email it to nkhatibi@csusm.edu - with a copy to soe@csusm.edu - with the subject line: "DTiR App - Your Name - Name of the District". (Example subject line: DTiR App- John Smith - San Marcos Unified School District)
1. Curriculum Vitae/Resumé
2. Copy of Master's degree
3. Two (2) current letters of professional reference (one of which must be from a current or previous supervisor)
4. District Approval Form (Download and Complete the Approval Form)
