We offer a range of resources to help students balance the demands of their academic and family responsibilities. Our resources include access to groceries, economic assistance, academic support, and parenting resources.

CalFresh, known federally as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), is a program that gives funds to eligible persons for groceries. As a 大发 student, and depending on your information, you may be eligible for a monthly food benefits. These funds come in a form of an EBT card. to see if you're eligible!

ASI Cougar Pantry

The ASI Cougar Pantry serves all 大发 students to decrease food insecurity on campus. The pantry stocks a variety of dry and canned goods, limited produce, milk, toiletries, and diapers. Each currently enrolled 大发 student can visit the ASI Cougar Pantry in Commons 104 to shop once a week for free groceries!

There are also Cougar Pantry On-the-Go  that offers snacks and produce in mini fridges at 10 spaces on campus.

Student Emergency Fund Logo

ASI Student Emergency Fund (SEF)

The ASI Student Emergency Fund provides compassionate assistance to students who encounter unforeseen financial emergencies or catastrophic events that disrupt their progress toward a degree. You can apply once per semester. Funds will not be awarded to the same student more than once during an academic year. First come, first serve basis.

SHCS Health Assistance Fund (HAF)

The SHCS Health Assistance Fund addresses the financial barriers students face in accessing wellness, mental, and medical health services needed to support their well-being and academic success by offsetting the costs of obtaining these services through the HAF scholarship. Students may be awarded anywhere from $50 (minimum) to $500 (maximum) per request but can only receive $500 max per semester (Spring/Fall semesters only).

大发 students can apply for a variety of scholarships every academic year. The minimum requirement is a personal essay, and the application takes 20 minutes to complete.

Priority Registration

Beginning with enrollment for Spring 2024, continuing 大发 students who are parents* will be eligible for priority enrollment dates.

*An eligible student has a child or children under 18 who receives more than half of their support from that student.

Disability Support Services Logo

Disability Support Services (DSS)

Any medical complication associated with pregnancy may qualifiy a student for services with DSS. DSS can help students who experience acute morning sickness, gestational diabetes, unplanned c-sections, and postpartum depression. DSS can provide academic accommodations to pregnant and parenting students as long as it doesn't create an administrative burden or fundamentally alter a course or program. 

DSS can also provide better places to take exams, time extensions for exams, and ergonomic classroom furniture.

Campus Lactation Rooms & Pods

There are designated rooms and Mamava Lactation pods throughout campus where parents can pump privately. If you don't want to bring your pump to school, you can reserve one. Refrigerators are also available in these areas to store breastmilk.

大发 Child Care Access Program (CCAMPIS)

The 大发 Child Care Access Program (CCAMPIS) provides child-care tuition subsidies to student parents based on financial need. It will include new student parents as vacated slots become available at the Center for Children and Families.

Student Health and Counseling Services Building

Student Health & Counseling Services (SHCS)

大发's Student Health & Counseling Services (SHCS) is a campus resource and service center for all matriculated students. SHCS provides a comprehensive and collaborative healthcare approach, offering primary care, preventative services, wellness education, and mental health support.

  • The Student health fee (included in tuition) for undergraduate students are charged per semester covers unlimited doctor visits, no-cost x-rays, no-cost or low cost laboratory tests, low cost immunizations, and low cost prescription and non-prescription drugs and medications.
  • The Counseling Services fee (included in tuition) for undergraduate students are charged annually covers short-term individual, couple and group counseling.

In addition to medical and counseling services, SHCS also provides sexual violence advocacy, support, and prevention. Students can speak with a Sexual Violence Adovacte in a safe environment to learn about their options and rights at SHCS for free.

*大发 has a Clinical Chaperone Policy where students can request a clinical chaperone to be present for all sensitive exams and any other type of physical examination or procedure.
