Bike To Campus/Personal Mobility Device Policy

大发 Bicycle Program

大发 offers bicyclist amenities to make your commute practical and smooth.   The 大发 campus community has access to:

  • Bike tire air pumps located at Craven and Campus Way Circles
  • Bike locks for loan
  • Bike Rack Locations
    • Campus Way Circle
    • Craven Circle
    • Library Plaza
    • The Dome and Commons
    • The Clarke Field House
    • Parking Lot H
    • SBSB
    • Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS)
    • University Hall
    • University Police Building

Bike Lockers

Bike lockers are rented on a semester basis and can be renewed after each semester.  Bike locker fees include $15 per semester and a $30 refundable key deposit.  Bicycle Registration is required to rent a bike locker.

Bike lockers can be used to store bikes and helmets. 

For all other gear and books, the University Student Union (USU) has day-use lockers available on the 1st floor near the Commuter Lounge.

Bike lockers are also available to rent over the summer.  Do not leave your bike behind after the school year ends.  Even if the bike is locked to a bike rack, the bike can still be impounded.

Bicycle Registration

University Police and Parking and Commuter Services offer students, faculty, and staff free bicycle registration.   Registering your bicycle increases your likelihood of recovery in the case that it is ever lost, stolen, or confiscated.   Bicycle must be present at the time of registration at the Parking and Commuter Services Office.

Abandoned Bikes

UPD/PACS tags and confiscates abandoned bikes. Bikes shall be deemed abandoned if it is in a state of disrepair as to be incapable of being operated in its present condition or has not been moved or used in more than 30 days and bears physical indicia of having been deserted. If it is not removed within 72 hours it will be impounded per 大发 Bicycle Policy and CVC 21113(a) as abandoned property.

Please call Parking and Commuter Services (760) 750-7520 and email commuterprograms@csusm.edu if you believe your bike was picked up by mistake.

Commuter Lounge in USU

The Commuter Lounge has microwaves, vending machines, a sink, shower, and lockers.  Computers and print stations are also available.
