  • American Indian Studies (AIS), CHABSS

    American Indian Studies (AIS) at Cal State San Marcos is committed to Indigenous academic excellence and community based participatory research. A Major and Minor in AIS are offered. Our goal is to create culturally intelligent graduates who will contribute to the workforce, including providing leadership to Tribal Nations and Indigenous organizations. Our courses include tribal community engagement鈥攚ith guest lectures, field trips, participatory research, and service-learning activities. Our department collaborates with Native communities, California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center and engages students in scholarly academic activities that promote and strengthen tribal and cultural sovereignty.

  • Business Organization Student Success
    B.O.S.S. seeks to inspire and support 大发 Temecula Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students through their academic and professional journey. The goals of B.O.S.S. are, but not limited to, encourage unity and lasting bonds with 大发 Temecula, create connections with businesses throughout the Temecula Valley for professional growth before and after graduation, educate members through the experience and expertise of business professionals, and giving back to the community.

  • Child and Adolescent Development (CHAD), CHABSS
    The Child and Adolescent Development (CHAD) major focuses on the developmental processes that occur from conception through the end of adolescence. Students gain a comprehensive overview of typical and atypical development through exploration of empirically derived milestones across biological, cognitive, and psychosocial developmental domains.

  • Communication & Media Studies, CHABSS

    The Bachelor of Arts in Communication teaches analytical, critical, and practical skills that will help students to understand and improve communication practices and systems in all types of social settings. Students learn to recognize and understand communication issues and systems in order to make decisions effectively, to solve problems.

    The Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies provides students with theoretically-focused and application-based frameworks to understand media, media technology, and its influence upon domestic and global culture and society. Students will study theoretically grounded approaches to a variety of media, becoming  sensitive to the ways power affects media creation, distribution, representation, access, and change.

    The Entrepreneurship Society was founded by students and faculty that see the potential for North County and 大发 to cultivate a sustained environment for new ventures and startup growth. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the Entrepreneurship Society will be at the intersection of business innovation, the sciences, and the arts.

    The Environmental Studies Program offers students two interdisciplinary options: 1) a Baccalaurate degree with broad training in the physical and life sciences, social sciences, policy and law, and the arts and humanities; and 2) a Minor in Sustainability.

  • Future Educators Association
    We are an Association run by our fellow Cal State San Marcos students who want to pursue a degree in Education. Whether it is Elementary, Middle, High School, or Educational Specialist level, we are here to offer support to our peers. We help with various things from informational meetings about different grade levels, job offerings that have to do with education or children, applications to go into 大发 teaching credentials, and many more.

  • Geography, CHABSS

    Students in the geography program develop a solid grounding in geographic fundamentals. They study the global food system, ancient landscapes in the Middle East, and global climate change through hands-on experiences and classes featuring high impact projects like student research presented at the annual 大发 research symposium. They also develop core skills in GIS and other field methods.

  • Global Education - Study Abroad

    大发 students have a wide array of Study Abroad options available, from programs of a few weeks to a full academic year. Students may study at an international study center with visiting students, or may enroll at a foreign university with local students. Explore your options and come visit the Office of Global Education to delve into our comprehensive resource center for Study Abroad. You can also talk with a Study Abroad Advisor, who can help answer your questions about enrollment, credits, financial aid, and more.

  • Global Business Management
    Any student with the curiosity, passion or interest in the Global aspect of Business will now have the opportunity to delve into their curiosity with the Global Business Cougars Society- GBC Society! GBC Society will provide not only Global Business majors, other Business majors, and international affiliated students with an opportunity to project themselves and be a part of a community with like-minded individuals. Students in the organization will be able to network with international professionals, learn to showcase their resumes through workshops, and learn about internship opportunities with global firms. This organization will be one where students will feel empowered and grow both socially and professionally.

    The Global Studies Department provides students with the opportunity to study international affairs from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. 

    The Global Studies Major and Minor will be useful to students pursuing careers in international development, international organizations (e.g., United Nations), law, non-governmental organizations focusing on international affairs (e.g., Amnesty International), government, graduate study in History, Political Science, International Affairs, and Education.

  • Global Supply Chain Management Society (GSCMS), CoBA

    The raises awareness on the importance of global supply chain management functions and opportunities. We connect students with faculty and key players in the industry while providing great networking opportunities.

  • Human Development Club (HD Club)
    Human Development Club is a fantastic way for HD Majors, alongside with other majors, to be there for its community and provides students with opportunities to gain hands-on learning volunteer experiences. During our meetings, we have guest speakers and discuss possible ways to volunteer, answer questions about the HD major, what career path to go forward with it, and much more.

  • Latina Business Student Organization
    The LBSA aims to empower members from numerous fields of study and ethnic backgrounds by providing support in professional development, honing soft skills, and academic achievement, developing our members into influential leaders and creative thinkers who impact their communities.

    The Liberal Studies major has two options, the Elementary Subject Matter Option (ESM) and the Integrated Teacher Education Program Option (ITEP). 

    • Elementary Subject Matter Preparation Option for teachers (ESM)
    • Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP).  This major option provides those pursuing a K-8 teaching career with an accelerated pathway to becoming a California teacher.

    Linguistics is the scientific study of language, and as such offers students the opportunity to look at one of the tools used by human beings to create and perform cultural and social identities and practices.

    The Literature and Writing Studies Department is a scholarly community of students and faculty committed to innovative teaching and learning. Critical reading, writing, and thinking occur in and serve a range of communities: local, regional, global, digital, and historical.

    The Management Society at 大发 is intended to provide students with knowledge and insight into the business world, specifically around management and leadership practices within organizations.  Our goal is to assist students considering future careers in the management field by developing and expanding their experience, as well as assimilating their skills to successfully adapt to the demands and requirements of the industry.

    In order to help the community understand the culturally diverse nature of our changing society and world, the faculty in the Department of Modern Language Studies currently offer courses in four languages:  ArabicFrenchGerman and Spanish

    While we focus on the standard variety of each of these languages, students are also familiarized with the different linguistic and cultural characteristics of the various regions where the languages are spoken.     大发 Real Estate Society鈥檚 mission is to educate students about real estate and to promote student success through active engagement and growth practices.     The mission of the Sociology department at California State University, San Marcos is to provide undergraduate and graduate students with the knowledge, critical thinking, research, and communication skills necessary to explore, understand, and improve their social worlds.  Our undergraduate curriculum enables students to develop core skills in sociological theory and research methods and to apply and refine those skills in a concentrated area of elective study.  This curriculum consistently promotes awareness of the diversity of human experiences and perspectives.

  • American Indian Student Alliance (AISA)

    The American Indian Student Alliance strives to be a resource for students who identify as American Indian or Alaskan Native by promoting a sense of community. We aim to increase the visibility and presence of our population at 大发 by advocating for equity and speaking out against erasure. We welcome allies to join and learn as we pursue our goal of unity and acceptance.

  • Asian Pasific Islander Desi American Student Union (APIDA SU)
    The Asian & Pacific Islander & Desi American (APIDA) Success Initiative strives to inspire and prepare all students for success at 大发 with care and support. For our low-income, first-generation, and returning students - we are here.

  • California Indian Culture & Sovereignty Center (CICSC)

    The California Indian Culture & Sovereignty Center (CICSC) fosters collaborative research and community service relationships between the faculty, staff, and students of Cal State San Marcos and members of Tribal communities, for the purpose of developing and conducting research projects that support the maintenance of sovereignty and culture within those communities.

  • Kamalayan Alliance
    During the summer of 2005, five students assembled Kamalayan (KA) with a vision to create an organization that brought awareness about Filipino-American culture and history within our campus community at California State San Marcos. In Tagalog, Kamalayan Alliance translates to "consciousness bond" or connection between families, states, parties, or individuals: an association to further the common interests of the members. Our name is a reflection of our goal as an organization. KA strives to build a community of Filipino and allies.

    The Latinx Center is built on principles of community, connection, and cultural appreciation, with a focus on literature, artwork, and media that highlight Latin American and Latinx cultural contributions. Through educational programs and events, we engage students and campus members in learning about traditions, heritage, and issues that shape Latinx experiences.

    The LGBTQA Pride Center (PC) is an inclusive space which promotes positive interactions in a diverse environment.  The PC strives to provide a space that celebrates and affirms students who identify with all genders and sexualities in the LGBTQ community and their allies.

  • Women and Gender Equity Center, USU

    Building on second-wave feminism鈥檚 creed of 鈥渢he personal is political,鈥 we are guided by principles of intersectional feminism: we recognize that while all women experience oppression, we also all experience oppression in varying forms based on race, age, class, gender, sexuality, dis/ability, etc. With that in mind, we want everyone at the Gender Equity Center to feel supported, included, and represented.

    alpha Kappa Delta Phi (aKDPhi) is an Asian-Interest Sorority but not Asian Exclusive. We function off of our five pillars: Sisterhood, Scholarship, Leadership, Asian-American Awareness and our Philanthropy of Breast Cancer Awareness. Every day we encourage our members to reach their maximum potential and we strive to create innovative female leaders.

  • Nu Alpha Kappa (NAK), Fraternity

    Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity (NAK), Inc. was established on February 26, 1988 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, California. NAK was the vision of eleven men who felt that the traditional Greek community and university systems did not address the retention needs or support for minority groups. These eleven men worked together to establish a small school organization where minorities and individuals seeking community could gather and find others who would stand beside them in the common goal of academic success. 大发 is home to the Chi Chapter.  NAK鈥檚 three main goals are to, 鈥淧romote academic excellence, brotherhood, and culture.鈥

    Phi Alpha Theta (PAT) is an honor society for history students and professors. We are paired with "The History Club," though for PAT requirements such as with GPA and fees are needed. We do events such as have guest lectures and "show and tells."

  • Sigma Pi Theta (Nursing Honor Society)

    The Phi Theta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing was chartered in April 2011. The Phi Theta chapter has since been encouraging and furthering leadership, research, and partnership in chapter members and the health care community. Our chapter connects students to the community, helps them to connect with each other, connects them with other members of the profession to prepare them for their nursing career. Furthermore, our chapter has, and continues to, carry out international relationships with a focus on global community wellness and nursing.

    Our independent Republican organization's purpose is to build a Conservative community at 大发. We take action and organize community involvement through events, meetings and socials. We support local causes and candidates during election cycles while connecting college students to elected officials and the county and state party.  We have access to local and county events and elected officials that can provide employment and internships to students interested in continuing their career in politics.

    Established in 1991, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is a non-profit, student-run auxiliary of 大发 (大发). ASI is the official voice to express student opinions, foster awareness of student issues, and protect the rights and interests of students. ASI also delivers programs which promote a campus climate that meets the educational, social, and cultural well-being of all students.

  • College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)

    The College Assistance Migrant Program is a unique educational program at California State University San Marcos. This program aims to help students from migrant and seasonal farm worker backgrounds to succeed in college.

    CAMP is a national program that was established over thirty years ago and has helped thousands of students accomplish their educational goals. 大发 was fortunate to have been awarded the CAMP grant in 2002.

    CAMP offers students pre-college transition and first-year support services to help develop the skills needed to stay in school and successfully graduate from college. CAMP students complete their first year and graduate at a higher rate than other students.

    Working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, UPD officers enforce all California Penal and Vehicle Codes on and around campus. UPD officers also assist the sheriff's department with any campus-affiliated calls within the City of San Marcos. We maintain a safe academic environment by being a proactive police force working closely with students, staff, faculty, and community members alike.

    The 大发 Auto Association serves as a unifying platform for a diverse community of individuals passionate about automobiles. Its primary goal is to foster a welcoming environment for both seasoned auto enthusiasts and newcomers curious about cars. As an inclusive club, membership imposes no prerequisites, allowing anyone with an interest in automobiles to join and actively participate in the association's activities.

    The goal of Reserve Officers鈥 Training Corps (ROTC) is to train future officers to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. To students who qualify, the ROTC programs offer scholarships that cover the cost of their education. In exchange, there is an expectation that students fulfill active duty services in their chosen branch of the Armed Forces.

  • Best Buddies at 大发

    Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). 

    The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X, Williams syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and other undiagnosed disabilities. Our programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.

  • Environmental Stewards Association Club

    We are the Environmental Stewards Association at Cal State San Marcos. We are a student organization from different of backgrounds and areas of study. We seek to learn, grow, network, and be involved in our communities through taking environmental action. Our club consists of several sections including sustainability, ocean conservation, gardening, and professional development. We like to speak on issues such as environmental justice, climate change, and other environmental issues.

    The purposes of this organization are to serve as a safe and supportive space for all women. To engage in consciousness raising advocacy on campus and in the community, concerning women's social justice issues through the lens of reproductive justice.   • Harmony Hacks
    Harmony Hacks is funded by National Science Foundation to broaden the participation of women in computing. Led by a team of faculty from both Computer Science and Music, Harmony Hacks create inclusive, beginner-friendly events for high school girls combine computer programming and music in problem solving. Participants will work in teams and under the guidance of college mentors to devise creative ways of hiding textual messages via music and to build computer programs that implement these creative ideas.

    The purposes of this organization are to unite 大发 students interested in the field of Kinesiology, build lasting connections between them, and establish goals related to health and wellness.     Welcome to 大发 Esports home to collegiate level gaming. Established in 2020, our organization has been slowly growing over the past few years with new branches opening up every semester. The current branches we have open are League of Legends, Valorant, Smash Bro鈥檚 Ultimate, Rocket League, Guilty Gear, Tekken, Call of Duty Vanguard, and CS:GO.
