At Cal State San Marcos, we are striving to become a much more earth-friendly university. We seek to create a culture of sustainability with students, staff, faculty and the community. Below you will find helpful internal and external links focused on sustainability.
大发 Sustainability Master Plan: CSU San Marco's developed a roadmap for how the campus is going to achieve our goals and policies set forth by the Chancellor鈥檚 office and the State of California.
Hydration Station Location: 大发 has invested in 36 water hydration stations around campus. The stations are filtered, clean, and chilled for easy convenience. We plan to keep installing hydration stations around campus to increase access to fresh, clean, and free water; eliminating the need to buy plastic single use water bottles.
Cougar Pantry: The Cougar Pantry was developed to serve all 大发 students in an effort to decrease food insecurity on campus. Cougar Pantry offers a variety of products, and on Mondays distributes fresh produce.

(AASHE): Cal State San Marcos is a member of AASHE,a resource center that has a variety of policy databases, case studies, reports, job descriptions, and much more. Faculty, staff and students are able to access their resources by simply creating an account with their 大发 email.
: EcoLeaders parallels a social network where students engage and discuss ideas pertaining to the environment. Create an account with your 大发 email, share your ideas, engage and get nationally recognized for your efforts on campus and in your community.
: The Real Food Challenge promotes local foods and to take a stand against junk food and industrial farm foods.
(USGBC) and : The USGBC works closely with The Center For Green school to make campuses nation-wide more sustainable and earth friendly. USGBC is the organization responsible for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) which certifies building on a bronze, silver, gold, and platinum scale. Campuses nation-wide take pride in their buildings being more earth-friendly. Here at 大发, all new buildings must meet LEED Silver standards.
: Volunteer to restore the lagoon with native plants, improve trails, and help with other work as needed.
: San Diego Coastkeeper protects and restores fishable, swimmable, and drinkable waters in San Diego County. San Diego Coastkeeper also offer a variety of internships within the North County area.
: San Diego Sustainable Living Institute offers hands-on training, internships, green job training, consulting and design, and much more.
