Goal #1 – Ensure An Adaptable And Sustainable Technology Environment

1.1   ´ó·¢ continuously improves, deploying new systems, services, and strategies that improve efficacy and efficiency. 

1.2   ´ó·¢ delivers service excellence, meeting evolving needs and expectations. 

1.3   ´ó·¢ uses resources sustainably, leveraging fiscal and personnel resources through continuous training and adaptation. 

Goal #2 – Develop A Seamless And Personalized Experience For Each Campus Community Member

2.1   ´ó·¢ enables a mobile experience, providing universal access to services and resources.

2.2   ´ó·¢ rethinks processes and services, utilizing technologies that are personalized and paperless to serve the digital world.

2.3   ´ó·¢ fosters student success, adopting accessible systems and services that support retention and timely progress to degree.

Strategic Projects

The following projects are aligned to Goals 1 and 2.   See all projects in the

  •  â€“ System to track all points of engagement within the university from K-12/Alliance and prospective students, through campus connections, and alumni engagement. 
  • – ´ó·¢ will use electronic signature tools and strategies to rethink administrative procedures that are native to a digital workforce.
  •  â€“ Continued development of a full featured App that would allow students to perform most common university tasks from their smart phone.
  •  â€“ Campus ID and retail system with integration to campus food services.  
  • – Deploy targeted and personalized communications systems including personalized web experiences. 
  • - This project is proposing to look at campus needs and common uses and evaluate if the campus should consider shifting to another LMS product suite.
  • - Facilitating electronic exchanges of contracts and signed documents.
  • - Quad and Village Apartments lock database requires an upgrade by Fall 2018.
  • - Project to move to OneDrive.  A portion of campus still rely on H-Drives for campus document storage.
  •   - IITS is investigating opportunities to move forward with AR/VR/Immersive Technology.
  • - The McMahon House alterations include adding smart technology throughout the facility. 
  •  -  Assist the Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE) in managing/communicating their diversity strategic plan and related projects. 
  • - Refresh appointments will continue through February 2018.
  • Completed Projects
    •  -  IITS will install a new fiber cable to support new wireless infrastructure.
    •  - Adobe Creative Cloud is available for Staff & Faculty, and will now be available for students.
    • - Redesign the campus homepage (www.csusm.edu) to address the needs of students and prospective students, and provide clear navigation for additional audiences.
    • - Increase disk storage as needed.
    • - Configure the Data Center to have only one AC unit running at a time.
    •  - The Library Video Wall will provide information, influence participation and inspire students as they enter the Technology Learning Center.
    • - All general fund faculty and staff will receive four-year scheduled replacement equipment via the Technology Refresh Program (TRP).
    •  - Create a facts and statistics website for the key Information Technology systems that IITS supports.
    • - A new site will provide one path for students, faculty, and staff to seek support.
    • - Improve process for campus units to request purchase review.  Improve ATI review process.
    • - Create the online IT Service Catalog for all IITS services.
    • - Redesign the IITS website, trim old pages  and combine associated sites.
    • IITS and Office of Communications are working together to redesign the campus mobile app to better meet the needs of current students for the Fall 2018 term.
    • - GreyHeller PeopleMobile implementation for student self-service.
    • - Transformation of the Kellogg 2000 Computer Lab into the new Technology Learning Center (TLC).
    • - CSU will be required to move to PeopleTools version 8.56 before Summer 2019.
    • - Upgrade wireless network for the Quad to continue to provide high capacity network availability.

  • Projects On Hold
     
    • Mediasite Upgrade - Install respective Mediasite programs, review permissions, and migrate files to new storage.  This upgrade is on hold  pending further review.
