Field Studies

The Environmental Studies Program encourages students consider pursuing environmental field studies programs and research opportunities beyond the limitations of our own curriculum. We recognize that while the traditional university has its benefits, so too do non-traditional field schools that offer firsthand experiential learning. ENVS offers academic credit to students while they participate in environmentally related study abroad and field studies opportunities across the county and around the world. Before enrolling in any of the following programs, consult with ENVS faculty, the Program Director, and the Study Abroad Office.

The following is a list of some of the programs we encourage interested students to explore. This list is a complete list of field schools, and there many other programs available, however students should meet with Environmental Studies faculty before applying to ensure they can receive credit. Questions about specific programs should be directed to the host project/program organization or school directly.
