Disability Support Services

Stage Access

Graduates with mobility impairments should contact ��'s Disability Support Services by May 1st for assistance at the Commencement ceremonies. A platform lift will provide access to the stage for graduates with mobility impairments.

Parking

Graduates and guests with a handicap placard or a Special Accommodations pass displayed will be directed to park in ADA parking in Lot B. Lot B is directly across the entrance ramp into the Mangrum Track and Field.

Accessible Seating

There will be accessible seating areas on Mangram Track. Accessible seating will allow for one companion seating. The rest of the party will need to find seats in general seating. Please keep in mind that the University does not provide wheelchairs or motorized scooters for individual use during the ceremonies. Accessible seating may not be covered and exposed to weather elements.

ASL Interpreters

Sign language interpreters will be present on stage at all Commencement ceremonies. They will also be seen on the big screen next to the Commencement stage. Please contact ��’s Disability Support Services regarding seating for ASL services: dss@csusm.edu .

Venue

The venue entrance at the Mangrum Track & Field (across from Lot B on Craven Road) is a downhill ADA compliant ramp. The venue entrance at the Mangrum Track & Field in the dirt lots (Lots XYZ) has an ADA compliant uphill gradient.

Some guests may require assistance entering/exiting the venue depending on the venue entrance.

Nursing Infants

There will be an enclosed tent on the field for nursing mothers. This tent is by the First Aid Tent on the northeast side of Mangrum Track & Field.

Special Accommodation Questions

Anyone requiring auxiliary aids such as sign language interpreters and alternative format materials is asked to notify Disability Support Services (760-750-4905 or dss@csusm.edu) at least fourteen working days in advance. Every reasonable effort will be made to provide accommodations in an effective and timely manner
