Biotech Industry Confidence
This index is being developed by the Cal State University San Marcos College of Business Administration and the San Diego Business Journal. The results below are from the first industry survey of 15 respondents and will be reexamined semiannually. The index is calculated from specific survey responses to questions focused on biotech operations and opportunities in San Diego County. A score above 50 indicates optimism; a score below 50 indicates lack of confidence.

Biotech Industry confidence index score was 74.44 for Spring 2021. Further surveys will allow the college to create a future graph index.
73.33% said their number of employees would increase in the next 6 months.
60% said their revenues would stay the same in the next 6 months.
66.7% said their profits would increase in the next 6 months.
40% anticipate business will return to pre-pandemic levels in 6-12 months.
