The College of Business Administration (CoBA) at California State University San Marcos (大发) held four separate five-day summer opportunity workshops for high school students across the San Diego region. Over 100 students from Temecula to San Diego participated in one of four workshops, choosing between the topics of Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain Management, and AI & Cybersecurity Literacy in Business. The program, held on 大发's campus and taught by CoBA instructors, gave students the chance to learn about a subject of interest to gain insight into areas of business they may want to study in the future. Industry guest speakers also shared real-world experiences, providing practical knowledge as well.

As important, the free workshops provided high school students with a learning experience in a real college setting, helping the students understand that higher education is a place for everyone, just like themselves. Outside of the classroom, students were treated to a guided tour of the 大发 campus, offering them a glimpse into college life and the resources available to 大发 students. The tour was a highlight for many attendees, some of whom were visiting the campus for the first time.

The workshops culminated in a certificate ceremony, where each student received recognition for their participation and successful completion of the program. This certificate not only acknowledged their hard work but also served as a testament to their newfound knowledge and skills.

Overall, the summer workshops were a resounding success, with positive feedback from both students and parents. Participants left the program with a deeper understanding of business concepts and a sense of excitement for their future academic and business careers. CoBA plans to continue offering these workshops in the future, further strengthening its commitment to supporting the next generation of business leaders in the San Diego region.
