Last Spring, CoBA partnered with the K16 Collaborative鈥檚 Border Region Talent Pipeline
to source students for the Collaborative鈥檚 Summer 2024 Internship Program. The K16
Collaborative is a state funded program for strengthening the education to workforce
pathways in California, with internships playing a key role in student learning and
workforce connection. CoBA became an active partner in the program, encouraging students
to apply to this ground breaking opportunity. Newsha Mardmomen, a current finance
major, was one of many CoBA students who participated in the K-16 internship program
during Summer 2024. Ms. Mardmomen was able to secure a position as a project support
intern at Cubic Corporation, an American multinational defense and public transportation
equipment manufacturer based in San Diego. This opportunity is set to accelerate her
career after graduation and has helped her build a strong network of professional
references. She credits both her coursework at 大发 and the support of the Executives
in Residence on campus for helping her land the position.
