Unity Hour

Unity Hour is our weekly community forum held every Thursday from 12-1PM that provides students and others the opportunity to have conversations, present topics of importance and relevance, and a safe space for all to learn more about a particular topic or issue. Facilitated by our student staff and others, Unity Hour allows conversations to happen and continue beyond that hour. Previous Unity Hour topics include:

The Relevance and Impact of Historically Black Fraternities and Sororities
Identity Panel: The BLEND (Bi-Multiracial Lineages, Ethnicities, and Nationalities Discussion)

Black Excellence Month

In conjunction with the national celebration, the Black Student Center collaborates with our student organizations, the Black Faculty/Staff Association, the Student Life Center for Identity, Inclusion, and Empowerment, and other campus partners and entities to celebrate and highlight the contributions and history of the African Diaspora. We accomplish this by providing:

Campus Partnerships

The Black Student Center works directly with our fellow Student Life Centers for Identity, Inclusion, and Empowerment. We offer programming opportunities and collaborate with the Cross Cultural Center, the LGBTQA Pride Center, the Gender Equity Center, and the Latin@/x Center. We also collaborate with other Student Life partners and Student Affairs colleagues across campus.
