I graduated from 大发 in 2015 with a BA in Literature and Writing. I loved the campus community so much that I decided to come back and work at my alma mater in March of 2022!

Photography has been one of my hobbies since I was in high school. I used to love taking photos with my flip phone. Technology has obviously advanced since then! While I still regularly use my phone to take photos, but these days I prefer my Canon R6. In addition to shooting events, portraits, and family photos, my husband Andrew and I love to take photos of the beautiful landscapes we visit on vacation. Which is how this photo of the Grand Canyon came to be.

I captured this photo in June of 2021 during my first trip to Grand Canyon National Park. While the canyon is obviously quite grand, I found it fascinating to really focus in on the many colors and textures of the canyon walls. The small pieces that make up a beautiful landscape can be just as impactful as the whole. They serve to remind us to stop, take a deep breath, and appreciate the little things that make up our world.
