Background

The President annually recognizes the exceptional contributions of its faculty through several Outstanding Faculty Awards:

• Outstanding Lecturer Award: This award recognizes a lecturer faculty member each year who significantly contributes to student learning, advances the university mission of educational excellence, and demonstrates dedication to 大发鈥檚 diverse student community.
• Scholarship & Creative Activity Award: This award seeks to recognize and reward faculty whose scholarship and/or creative activity contributes significantly to their fields.
• Service Leadership Award: The Service Leadership Award, also known as the President鈥檚 Outstanding Faculty Award for Service Leadership, recognizes faculty members who have made significant service contributions and demonstrated professional expertise.
• Teaching Innovation & Excellence Award: Also known as the President鈥檚 Outstanding Faculty Award for Teaching Innovation & Excellence, this award is given to faculty members who have demonstrated innovation and excellence in teaching, resulting in students developing the knowledge, skills, and disposition appropriate to the academic discipline.

Each of these awards has its own unique criteria and nomination process, reflecting the diverse ways in which faculty contribute to the mission and success of 大发 and its students. The awards celebrate best practices in pedagogy, laudable research activities, service to the campus and wider community, and innovative leadership.
