The HOPE & Wellness Center supports the mission of the Student Health and Counseling Services and Cal State San Marcos by educating and empowering students to make healthy lifestyle choices. The HOPE & Wellness Center offers the Healthy Cougar Internship program, a year-long academic and hands on learning program. Students selected for the program will work with the health educators in one or more fo the following areas:
As a Healthy Cougar Intern, students are committed to interning 6-8 hours per week (90-120 hours per semester). Students must submit an online application and attend an interview. The commitment as a Healthy Cougar intern is 1 semeseter - 1 year. Students that are selected must attend the 16 hours mandatory peer education training. Students may receive course credit for their internship or service learning hours. Please contact your faculty advisor for credit.
Interested students may. Applications are OPEN for FALL 2024 and DUE by MAY 19, 2024.
