Early Start Workshop

Cougar Scholars: Early Start Program (ESP) is designed to better prepare students in written communication and mathematics/quantitative reasoning before the fall term of their first year of college, improving students chances of successful completion of a baccalaureate degree. The Cougar Scholars: Early Start Program is required for students needing support in these areas as determined by systemwide placement standards (standardized tests and high school coursework).

Join us for the Cougar Scholars: Early Start Workshop. Scheduled for June workshops will open in late May 2025. 

The Cougar Scholars: Early Start workshop will provide an overview of Cougar Scholars: Early Start summer courses. The Cougar Scholars: Early Start workshop will also provide an opportunity for you to select the best course to take full advantage of the Cougar Scholars: Early Start program.  At the information session, you will:

  • Learn why it is important that you begin your college coursework this summer.
  • Learn about the courses you will be taking this summer including costs, parking and materials.
  • Learn what is expected of you as student during Cougar Scholars: Early Start.
  • Complete your Cougar Scholars: Early Start registration.
  • Registration open is late May 2025 for the workshop.
