
MANAGEMENT
All CHAD majors are required to complete CHAD 496: Observation and Assessment Lab and CHAD students may choose to take CHAD 450: Practicum in Early Childhood Education. Both classes are taught at the Center for Children and Families (CCF on campus). The CCF requires the immunizations listed below. CHAD majors must complete the background check and immunization requirements by the submission deadline of the semester in which they take the CHAD 450 and/or CHAD 496 course. However, these cannot be completed more than one year before the start of the semester.
Students taking CHAD 496 or CHAD 450 in Fall 2025 must complete their background check and submit proof of immunizations and flu declination form to the Center for Children and Families by Friday, June 20, 2025.
The Paperwork Submission Window for CHAD 450 and 495 is from Monday, May 12, 2025 through Friday, June 20, 2025. Please note that the CCF is closed and cannot accept paperwork on the following dates: May 26, June 16, and June 19.
ALL DOCUMENTATION MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE STUDENT TO THE CCF. THE PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT MAY NOT/WILL NOT TAKE THE DOCUMENTATION AS PER CHANCELLOR'S OFFICE GUIDELINES.
ALL center/site students enrolled in CHAD 450 and/or CHAD 496 and/or conducting research at the Center for Children and Families need to have immunization documentation in their files indicating they have received the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis/whooping cough) vaccines and Tuberculosis test, as well as documentation of a current flu vaccination or a signed declination of the flu vaccine form.
For the flu vaccination specifically, students need to provide proof of flu immunization (or an exemption).

Students must make arrangements to have all required immunizations by the deadline for the semester in which they will enrolled in CHAD 450 and/or CHAD 496 at the CCF.
If students fail to provide copies of these documents to the CCF by the deadline they will be dropped from the CHAD 450 and/or CHAD 496 course.
