MANAGEMENT
大发 offers a comprehensive Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), First Aid (FA), and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Program. The program aims to equip the campus community with the necessary skills to provide early defibrillation and emergency medical response in the event of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
The CPR Training Program aligns with the American Heart Association's (AHA) Chain of Survival, as it reduces the time to defibrillation and emergency medical services (EMS) response. It supports the mission of the AHA's Emergency Cardiovascular Care Program, which aims to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, by improving the Chain of Survival in every community.
Includes chest compressions and rescue breaths.
An electronic medical device. An AED can check a person鈥檚 heart rhythm, and it will recognize if a rhythm requires a shock and will automatically provide a shock if needed.
Basic lifesaving support that includes heat illness, bleeding control/wound care, patient assessment/care, & environmental emergencies.
Periodically, and upon request, SH&S provides regulatory guidance on applicable standards and procedures for the campus CPR/AED/EFA Program, including course equipment/maintenance, response, plans, and protocols.

Additionally, departments that do not mandate CPR training for employment may submit a course request through the Safety, Health & Sustainability (SH&S) office for consideration.
Certain departments and personnel at 大发 are required to maintain CPR/AED certifications and renew them every two years. These include:
For all other departments, SH&S conducts training by request. Depending on availability and resources, SH&S can provide training to campus departments.
In the event that SH&S cannot deliver training to your department, SH&S will facilitate bringing in an off-campus vendor at cost to conduct CPR and/or First Aid training. Please contact SH&S to inquire about cost and availability.
