The Administrative Policy Equity Review Committee (APERC) is an advisory body created to review 大发 administrative policies and campus procedures to ensure that all members of the campus community are represented and can provide feedback for the decision-making of the creation and review of campus policies and procedures. Most importantly, the APERC supports the campus commitment to provide a voice and representation to historically underrepresented identities and groups in the administrative processes that govern 大发.

The Office of Inclusive Excellence and the Administrative Policy Office have provided ongoing leadership in the implementation of an equity review process of all campus administrative policies and procedures at 大发. It is important to note this equity review initiative aligns with the 大发 Strategic Plan, specifically, Goal 3: Achieving our Vision through Diversity, Equity & Inclusive Excellence.

We are seeking volunteers from the 大发 community, including faculty, staff, and students, to participate in this important work. We hope that through this call for volunteers there will be interested individuals who have expert lived experience and/or have substantive experience with policy analysis and evaluation who are ready to serve.

The University has defined the scope of APERC responsibilities specifically focusing on using an equity lens analysis as follows:

  • Review and provide equity-based feedback to existing and new 大发 administrative policies and procedures.
  • Following APERC policy review propose potential solutions or suggested language changes specific to addressing equity-based opportunities for improvement.

APERC Benefits

  • Opportunities to identify and help policy owners address barriers to equity as well as identify other opportunities for policy improvement specific to campus administrative policies and procedures
  • Opportunities to exercise leadership, experience professional development, engage in transparent policy dialogue, and professional networking with colleagues from across campus
