Taylor is Senior Wealth Advisor and Director of Portfolio Strategy for a Registered
Investment Advisory firm, Halbert Hargrove and is based in San Diego. His responsibilities
include working with individuals and families in developing financial goals and creating
long-range planning and providing investment management and guidance as a member of
HH鈥檚 Investment Committee. Taylor also co-authors HH鈥檚 Quarterly Insights letter.
One of the ways Taylor makes a difference for many clients is in helping them 鈥渟tay grounded in focusing on appropriate long-term benchmarks of financial success.鈥 He says he values the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on their comfort and peace of mind in terms of their financial well-being.
Taylor has worked in the investment profession for more than a decade. Before joining HH in 2012, he was a Vice President at Stifel Nicolaus in Florham Park, NJ. Taylor鈥檚 responsibilities there included investment due diligence, selection and monitoring, as well as client portfolio management and implementation. Prior to Stifel, Taylor worked for Fisher Investments as well as Arthur Andersen, one of the original Big Five consulting firms.
He earned his B.A. in Mass Communication from UC Berkeley in 1998. In 2006, through the University of Pennsylvania at Wharton, he earned the CERTIFIED INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT ANALYST 庐 designation sponsored by the Investment Management Consultants Association. Taylor is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER鈩 and was awarded the ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDUCIARY鈩 designation by the University of Pittsburgh-affiliated Center for Fiduciary Studies.
Taylor volunteers as a Director on the Foundation Board of Cal State San Marcos. He and his wife Nicole are raising three daughters; he coaches their soccer and lacrosse teams, and enjoys spending time exploring San Diego with them. He also loves exploring San Diego鈥檚 famed micro-breweries鈥攁nd he鈥檚 never met a burrito he didn鈥檛 like.
