2 Campus Tours Are you ready for a STEM adventure?  Join a tour led by our student ambassadors and learn more about ´ó·¢!  This tour is designed to help current high school students prepare for taking those next steps with college applications.  Tours will be available at 10:15am, 11:15am, 12:15pm, 1:15pm, 2:15pm, and 3:15pm and last about 45 minutes.

9 Quantum Levitation: A Cool Science Thrill!  Sponsored by Viasat Witness the marvel of magnet levitation with a super-cooled system. This captivating experiment showcases the principles of superconductivity, where a small magnet hovers effortlessly above a chilled superconducting disk revealing the extraordinary capabilities of quantum physics.
10 Measuring Your Strength & Agility Test out your vertical jump with the ´ó·¢ Kinesiology Club!  Find out how much "power" you have in your punch with an accelerometer. How does your body work and process when doing this?  Learn how to be safe and healthy when you are doing these activities.
11 Science with Soda Learn about what makes a Mentos Fountain work and experience it on a small scale every 15 minutes with a full sized fountain on the hour.
12 Dancing Raisins Drop raisins in graduated cylinders of soda water and watch them dance as the density changes.
13 Solid + Liquid = Gas Place a balloon over a soda bottle to mix a solid and liquid to create and catch the gas.
14 Magic Milk View a mesmerizing display of colorful fireworks, where hydrophobic interactions between soap and milk molecules create dynamic patterns as the colors swirl and shift. 
15 Sound Wave Carnival Knock over a tower of cups using sound waves.
16 Freaky Foam Faces

Explore polyurethane polymers by making foam and decorating a monster face.  *This booth is extremely popular so you may need to wait in line to participate.
17 See Through Animals Be a veterinarian and identify the animal based on their X-ray!
18 Animal Athletes: Marvelous Mice & Beastly Birds Learn about the natural history and ecosystems of the species studied in the ´ó·¢ Sustaita Lab, including salt marsh harvest mice, Loggerhead Shrikes, and hummingbirds. Students will demonstrate what fieldwork looks like through interactive displays and games.
19 The Nose Knows Determine how well you can identify a scent! Learn about scent molecules and how sensitive some animals sense of smell can be.
20 K9 Search and Rescue with CARDA Meet the volunteer search teams and learn about the science of olfaction in canines. Scent and tracking demonstrations will take place throughout the day.
21 We Will Rock(et) You! Look to the sky as physicists launch rockets every 20 minutes.  
22 Better Than Magic Chemistry Show Be dazzled as chemistry takes center stage in this exciting show for all ages! Shows at 11AM and 1PM in ARTS 240 with a grand finale in the ARTS Dirt Lot.
23 Extinguish Your Fears Do you know how to use a fire extinguisher?  Are you familiar with how to measure air quality?  Learn about fire safety in your home, along with what precautions we need to take in both urban and rural environments.  Fire extinguisher demonstrations every 30 minutes, starting at 10:15am.  Live fire demonstrations will take place at 12:30pm and 2:30pm (weather permitting).
24 Bioaccumulating with J.Craig Venture Institute Discover how pollution moves through the food chain! Track the journey of microplastics in the ocean and watch as pollution accumulates in different-sized fish and learn how it affects marine life.
25 NASA Academy - Power Play: Orbit Survival Play a life-size board game aboard a space station orbiting earth, attempting to avoid the dangers of space (lack of sunlight for solar power, asteroids, and more!)
26 STEM Safari Mobile Museum Engage in pop up museum-like exhibits with interactive science exhibits, including our giant Light Bright.
27 Science Fair Walk of Fame Get ready to be amazed! Talented students are showcasing their innovative projects, creative experiments, and groundbreaking ideas at the Science Fair Walk of Fame.
28 NASA Academy - Escape Room: Save the ISS! Try to solve (3) escape room type puzzles with varying degrees of difficulty aimed at different age groups, each with a storyline around saving the International Space Station.
29 Out of This World Science View solar spots through a telescope with the Department of Physics (weather permitting).
30 LabRats San Diego Experience the physics of light and how we as humans see. Enjoy labs on light and color, as well as a spectroscope demo. See chemical reactions with alginate worms and human biology with heart and lung models.
31 10 Years in the Making Celebrate CRESE's 10-year anniversary of the Mobile Making Program! Showcasing the technology and mechanisms that make our projects move and work, including projects that utilize syringes and tubing to create hydraulics.
32 Build a Bristle Bot Can your bot win the battle? Build a mini motorized robot out of toothbrush heads with STEM Ambassadors from CRESE and test it out in our bot mazes.
33 Wickedly Wild Slime! Are you ready to defy gravity?  Learn about the magic of polymers and how crosslinking takes place between borax and glue.
34 Chemical Safety & Lab Tour See how we stay safe in the laboratory. The San Diego American Chemical Society (ACS) will have liquid nitrogen demos and display safety equipment. Learn about our campus commitment to Green Chemistry. Tours start at 10:30AM and run every hour on the half hour until 3:30PM. All ages are welcome. Ages 12 and under require parent/guardian be present.
35 5 Big Booms Join the Amateur Radio Club and Society of Women Engineers to learn how to transmit FM signals to a boom box. See how spectrum analyzers and handmade radios are created and used.
36 Virtual Reality Science Laboratory Experience Have fun experiencing Mixed Reality and Virtual Reality with Sonora High School and CSTEM students.

Witness the strength of plasma, the fourth state of matter! Participate in several hands-on static electric charge activities and demonstrations.
42 Plank-ton of Fun View live plankton through a microscope and then build your own plankton using everyday items. Test your plankton to see if it can be neutrally buoyant in water (neither floating at the top nor sinking at the bottom).

Whether you're curious about how the brain works, want to pursue a career in Speech-Language Pathology, or just love learning new things, this booth has something for everyone!
45 Super Mind, Super Power Learn about the physiological impact of mindfulness practices on heart rate variability and coherence. Use a HeartMath sensor attached to an I-pad to practice a three minute guided meditation and watch what happens to your heart rate.
46 STEM Cells in Action! Learn about stem cells and create your own on the shrinky dink paper.
47 Shape a STEM Cell! Learn how stem cells become different type of cells in the body with a hands-on activity.
48 Discover the Beauty of Our Cells Examine a collection of biological samples under a microscope and play Microscopya, a science video game.
49 Creative Coding Experience Experience creative coding through exciting hands-on activities with UCSD students!  Be amazed to see coding in virtual reality (Embodied Code), learn coding concepts while playing Byte Beads game, and build and code a mini KOOV robot.

52 The Amazing World of Physics Show Come be inspired and amazed by the science and glory of the physical world!  Shows at 12PM and 2PM.
53 World Cubing Association

The World Cubing Association brings their SoCal Speedcubing Competition to Super STEM Saturday!  Spectators can attend for free and can come and go as they please. No registration or check-in process is required.  Exhibition/Seminar with Graham Siggins and Schwan Park from 2:45-3:15PM.
54 All Things Rubik's! Explore strategies for solving the Rubik's Cube!  Walk up entries for the World Cubing Association Competition will be available at this booth.
55 Brick by Brick: Science with Legos  Come and build with Legos!  This popular toy provides hours of fun while teaching us basic principles of engineering and programming.
56 Sound Science: Build Your Own Harmonica! Create a simple harmonica using craft sticks, rubber bands, and straws, and explore how vibrations create sound! 
57 Voice Science Lab Step into the world of communication! Learn about how vocal cords work to create speech and explore how people communicate in different ways. 
58 Building Brick Challenge Can you build a boat to keep the brick man dry? Test and evaluate the process to build the perfect Lego boat.
59 Coffee Filter Flowers These coffee filter flowers are SO PRETTY! This simple craft is beautiful for adults but easy enough that kids can make them too.
60 Rover and Robot Car Run Join the ´ó·¢ Robotics Club to learn how to build and use a remote controlled rover and car.
61 CAOS Designed, built, coded, and operated by Classical Academies students, these robots can solve a variety of challenging tasks. Try your hand at driving or operate the robot claw to grab samples.
62 Tower Building Build a free-standing structure using only 10 sticks of spaghetti, 1 1/2 meter/yard of tape, 3 rubber bands, and 6 small marshmallows. The tallest tower wins!
63 Separating color: What is chromatography? Learn the principles of chromatography (literally ‘writing with color’) by separating purple Kool-Aid into its constituent red and blue color bands. Bring your muscles to squeeze the column!
64 Glaciers: Hot Topic, Cool Chemistry Explore glacier science with density experiments using hot and cold water, salt water and various objects.
