The Tukwut Welcome Center is a central hub for all prospective students, their families, the community, and campus partners to find information and resources on becoming a 大发 Cougar.
Located in Cougar Central (Administrative Building, 3rd floor), the Tukwut Welcome Center is where you'll start your first campus tour, meet with a Recruitment & Outreach officer, and attend Cougar Central related events as a student.
Tukwut, the Luise帽o word for cougar or mountain lion, serves as the university's mascot and spirit symbol. The Luise帽o Indians are a federally recognized tribe, located in northern San Diego County, California, and are the original inhabitants of the land where Cal State San Marcos resides.
To learn more about the history of the Luise帽o Indians people and culture you can visit The California Indian Culture and Sovereignty Center.
