Susan Gutierrez Named 2006 Alumna of the Year; Department Honors Prof. Seleski's Service
Carlsbad librarian Susan Gutierrez, one of the first Cal State San Marcos history graduates, was named alumna of the year at the department's annual graduation reception on the afternoon of May 12 on the new patio in front of Markstein Hall. Ms. Gutierrez is the author of Windows on the Past: An Illustrated History of Carlsbad, California, the first book to be published by a history major graduate of Cal State San Marcos. The department also presented gifts to Prof. Patty Seleski, who is stepping down as department chair at the beginning of the fall semester.
