Alumni Hear Lombard, Plans for New MA

Alumni of the Cal State San Marcos History Department filled the Faculty Center conference room Thursday evening, April 28, for the first Alumni Night. Profs. Jill Watts and Peter Arnade told the alumni that Fall 2006 is the target date for the beginning of the new Master of Arts program in History. The program will include a focus on media and open up possibilities to students including work in public history and going on to a doctoral program as well as using new knowledge and skills as teachers. The featured speaker, Prof. Anne Lombard, discussed her Harvard University Press book Making Manhood: Growing Up Male in Colonial New England.
