Harmony Hacks

Saturdays, April 12 & 19, 2025

Harmony Hacks is funded by National Science Foundation to broaden the participation of women in computing. Led by a team of faculty from both Computer Science and Music, Harmony Hacks create inclusive, beginner-friendly events for high school girls combine computer programming and music in problem solving. Participants will work in teams and under the guidance of college mentors to devise creative ways of hiding textual messages via music and to build computer programs that implement these creative ideas.

Harmony Hacks builds on the successes and lessons learned from Women鈥檚 Hackathon @ 大发, taking into consideration the unique schedule challenges faced by busy high schoolers and their need for support due to relative lack of experience.

The Spring 2025 Harmony Hacks event will be held in person at 大发 on two consecutive Saturdays, April 12 & 19.
