GEW 101A Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Employ critical reading strategies to identify the values, assumptions, and arguments in a variety of texts.
  2. Analyze the role of audience and purpose in constructing sound arguments.
  3. Practice a multi-draft writing process, including revision in response to peer and instructor feedback. 
  4. Produce an argumentative essay that integrates and synthesizes sources.

This course satisfies the General Education requirement for Critical Thinking (area A3).
